Ladies of the '80s: We got lucky, babe

Mike Diaz writes: Friends: I just spoke to Michael Gueli’s sister and this is what she told me: “He passed away on Wednesday and according to his wishes his body was cremated on Friday. He did not want a service or funeral. He wants his ashes spread in the water. We are going to have a celebration of life party during the summer and spread his ashes then.” She also mentioned he passed from a heart attack after a brief illness. I hope this answers a few questions some of you may have.

The Bowery Boys: My pal Johnny Rozsa -- the famed photographer -- writes:

My subdued look for the preview of the Tate Modern Leigh Bowery show with Boy George and Daniel Lismore with Lamar Pillay. Also thrilled to see fashion illustration by @jackyblue__ for Harvey Nichols all over the London Underground #londonunderground @boygeorgeofficial @richardkaby  @daniellismore @lanah.p  #tate @fiontasia @hrhprincessjulia

Johnny's photo of Leigh Bowery dressed as a piggy graced the cover of i-D in 1987. Although it was a bomb on Broadway, I absolutely adored "Taboo" and have always contended it was my "Rent," because it spoke so much louder to me. I once told Boy George this and he replied: I wouldn't know -- I've never seen "Rent."
