Weekend Tennis Roundup

Titles for Baez, Rublev and Andreev. Full report -- including an Onlyfans star who reached the final in Rio -- BELOW.

Andrey Rublev fought off Jack Draper (23) 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 on Saturday to win the Qatar Open. Rublev regained a title he previously won in 2020. "It feels amazing," said the Russian on court at the end. "It’s my first ever title that I won twice." Both men had battled to the final with demanding victories in the quarterfinals and semifinals. "I think both of us were really tired after two three-set matches that finished late," said Rublev. "We were exhausted and it was difficult, but somehow we were able to play at a good level."

Despite the loss, the British heart throb rises to a career high No. 12 in the ATP rankings.

There was also British success in the Qatar Open men's doubles, with Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool lifting their third title together. Cash and Glasspool defeated countrymen Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski in the final 6-3, 6-2 to add to their previous trophies in Tokyo and Brisbane.

Sebastian Baez became the first player to successfully defend the Rio Open title on Sunday when he overcame Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-2, 6-3 at the ATP 500 in Brazil. It was sweet revenge for Argentina, which had lost its home title a week ago to Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca.

In addition to the trophy, the 5-foot-7 Argentinian got to be the meat in this Sebastian Gutierrez-Juan Martin del Potro sandwich!

In front of a packed late-night crowd at the Rio Open, home favorites Rafael Matos and Marcelo Melo became the first all-Brazilian team to win the doubles title at the ATP 500. The pair clinched the trophy on Saturday with an emotional 6-2, 7-5 victory against Spain's Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar, winning their second tour-level title as a team.

And on the women's side: Mirra Andreeva made history by becoming the youngest player to claim a WTA 1000 title after the 17-year-old won the Dubai Tennis Championships. The Russian beat Clara Tauson 7-6 (7-1) 6-1 -- and her victory puts her in the Top 10 for the first time. Andreeva defeated Grand Slam winners Marketa Vondrousova, Iga Swiatek and Elena Rybakina on her way to the final. "I'd set a goal for myself to be in top 10 by the end of the year," she said. Well done!

While the final in Rio was plenty entertaining, it was the Champagne ceremony during the trophy presentation that really got me going! Watch HERE

Baez has nice legs. But it's the self-proclaimed "sexiest professional tennis player" -- who has his own Onlyfans page -- who really seems to know how to put on a show!

After a great run in Doha, Jack Draper has withdrawn from the second leg of the Middle East swing in a bid to "manage [his] body." The official reason for Draper's withdrawal was given as a right adductor injury.
