Weekend Tennis Roundup (05/20)

Zverev and Swiatek were winners in Rome. Full report plus all the ATP beef that's fit to post BELOW.

Alexander Zverev warmed up for the French Open by winning his sixth Masters title when he beat first-time finalist Nicolas Jarry 6-4 7-5 in the Italian Open final on Sunday. With the void going into the second major of the year, the result should make the woman-beater a favorite -- but I'm still not convinced.

The women's final was surprisingly anticlimactic. Two weeks ago, Iga Swiatek battled for more than three hours-- and fought off three match points -- to survive Aryna Sabalenka in a nail-biter in the final of Madrid, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (7). On Saturday, the Pole routed the Belarussian, 6-2, 6-3, to win the crown for the third time in the last four years. Swiatek now has the most points on the computer since Serena Williams in 2015.

Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos beat Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic 6-2, 6-2 for the men's doubles title

Have a great time at Roland Garros. It is my favorite of the slams. But it does get busy as hell the first week!
Also, check out the new stadium in the botanical garden. It has reserved seating, but also a mezzanine area that is open seating.
