Social Misfit

According to a recent article I read in The Wall Street Journal, "blog audiences migrated to social media in the 2010s." (Ouch.)

How do I put this tactfully? I am a bit old-school, as are many of my readers. (I've heard from many of you who also lament the death of the daily email Google used to provide of my site.) But if you'd like to see me at least attempt to enter the 2010s, feel free to follow me on INSTAGRAM or THREADS!

As thanks, you have my word that I will never start a podcast.

I, too, lament the loss of those auto-generated email newsletters on Blogger. I had many readers who signed up for the newsletters.

The last thing I want is to have anything to do with Meta or its subsidiary Instagram. Kenneth I love your blog. You do an amazing job with it. FYI I will not get an account on a Meta platform. I think Zuckerberg and Musk are bad actors in the world.

Although I do love the advances of social media it can be a bit much.

I have an Instagram account to view others I follow but seldom post. What I hate about Instagram is all the OTHER junk in my feed. I just want to quickly see posts of folks I regularly follow. It can be a bit much. I still have a folder of all my Instagram followers that I could just click on and see what's new BUT that is not time-efficient.

I dropped Facebook years, years ago. I once again had an account to follow a select few but rarely posted.

I still have a Twitter account and only follow a few but I can't comment because I was in Twitter jail one too many times. I ever understood the reasoning when I see folks posting all kinds of crazy stuff including Nazi propaganda, Jewish bashing, racism... and the list goes on.

I looked at Threads a while back and I think I created an account. I have not been over there in a while.

Oh god!! Podcasts. Who doesn't have one is the question. There are a few good ones out there but I don't follow any regularly.

A suggestion for a post is your stance on Section 230. We need something. Don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. But Mark Z. and Elon M. are not good stewards of their platforms.

Have a great rest of the week.
