RIP to my first real sofa, a leather apartment model from Mitchell Gold purchased long enough ago that it could drink. Now try to guess if its same-size replacement WOULDN’T fit through our apartment door(!). Much to our surprise, the company’s owner was a mensch and footed the bill for the Sofa Doctor to dis- and reassemble it -- estimate was $500-$900 because the legs don't just come off -- so there’s a very happy ending! Photos TK.

I get it.I had to have my sofa assembled on-site, and 20 years later it was brutal to watch it being murdered with an electric saw on its way out.
no pics of the new sofa?
