I was working for one of the top Broadway producers when his "second or third" assistant announced she'd been asked to join some startup called MTV and wanted our group opinion, as she'd be one of the first employees hired. We all cautioned her that she had a great gig, and what the hell was a MTV? She proved just how smart she was by resigning and rapidly became one of its top executives.
