Weekend Tennis Diary

Australian fourth seed John Millman beat Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 7-5, 6-1 in the final of the Astana Open to claim his maiden ATP Tour title on Sunday. Millman -- who has won 19 Challenger and ITF titles -- had previously lost two Tour-level finals in his career but cruised to the title after a tough opening set, breaking Mannarino three times in the contest and denying the third seed a single break.

In doubles, Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen captured their first title of the season at the Astana Open with a 7-5, 6-3 victory against Max Purcell and Luke Saville.

Andrey Rublev won his fifth ATP title of the season after beating unheralded Lorenzo Sonego 6-4, 6-4 at the Erste Bank Open on Sunday. Rublev became the first player in this shortened season with five titles, one more than Novak Djokovic, who was destroyed by Sonego in the quarterfinals.

Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo beat Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski 7-6(5), 7-5 to win the Erste Bank Open title.

Taro Daniel srouted Sebastian Ofner 6-1, 6-2 to win the Hamburg Challenger title,  but it was the doubles losers who caught my eye!
