Twink. I have been thinking about that word. It's not quite similar to "faggot" but its definitely not a synonym for "stud." It appears to me to be a put down, as if to say "look at how young and inexperienced and naive this young man is." The implication is empty-headedness and even stupidity.
Yet, all the time, we non-twinks of a certain age, if not drooling and making fools of ourselves, are certainly attracted to his youth and beauty and potential while knowing that the future will not be kind to his youth and beauty and potential. So, when I look at someone like this adorable young man, I see an innocence that will soon be swept away by life. I also see the future--our future--because this "twink" may be tomorrow's Secretary Pete.
In that light, "twink" seems so inappropriate. How about "young man?"
