Song of the Day: 'Poison' by Bell Biv DeVoe

I'll probably get hate mail for this, but after joyously watching the entire runs of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Rhoda," "Phyllis," "Six Feet Under," "Too Close for Comfort,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Wings,” “Reno 911!” and others, I must confess that Damian and I have been taking a hiatus from "The Golden Girls," after slowly working our way through the first three seasons. Damian, who went into it the bigger fan, warned me that the show was as uneven as I remembered it being, and I must say the slut/airhead/bitch/old crank jokes are surprisingly one note, especially when you watch several episodes in a row. (And can I just say there are way too many reminiscing/clip shows for a series that at this point had only been on three seasons.)  As I've said before, I probably wasn't as big a fan as I might have been having already loved and associated Betty White, Bea Arthur and Rue McClanahan with other legendary television characters. But I love all four women and always go back into it with an open mind, only to be underwhelmed. Will let you know if things pick up in Season 4!

You deserve hate mail for suggesting "Wings" (gross) or the fun but COME ON, pretty bad, "Too Close for Comfort" are superior to "Golden Girls." I know where you live!!!!!!!
