Michael and I had been at the IFC movie theater just moments before Elliot Morales started harassing two gay men and then gunned one of them, Mark Carson, down dead on 6th Avenue one May night in 2013. Happy to see that Morales was finally sentenced to 40 years to life for the hate crime, which he tried to mitigate by saying he'd slept with a transgender woman. I hope the Carsons can find a sliver of relief from this.
