Is it just me, or is there something funny going on in "Riverdale"? I'm not saying show runner Greg Berlanti -- aka Robbie Rogers' partner -- had to get the casting couch reupholstered after choosing the male leads for the CW's new live-action version of the Archie comic book. But it seems awfully strange that he selected a New Zealander (K.J. Apa) who doesn't have red hair -- but does have a six pack and tattoos(!) -- to play all-American Archie Andrews (can't wait to hear that accent!) and a pretty boy blond kid (Cole Sprouse) to play Jughead Jones, who I always thought of as a younger and cuter Fonzie. (No complaints about Luke Perry as Archie's dad, Fred, other than, "How the fuck did we all get to be so old?!")
