God is not a cosmic errand boy whose job it is to stop humans who are bent on murder and terrorism from committing murder and terrorism. Please look up the definition of "free will."

Further, there are already laws against terrorism and murder. What makes you think that those who are not deterred by those laws would magically be deterred by restrictions on gun ownership.

Where gun ownership is criminalized, only criminals have guns. Where does that leave the average law-abiding gay man? Defenseless.

Clearly more guns have not stopped the gun violence issue in our country. And truly, the problem isn't guns - it's the people. Unfortunately we can't predict who in our society is going to stockpile guns, or use legally purchased guns for illegal actions. It's not "known criminals" committing these big shootings, it's people heretofore unknown to the police. So, that said, if we can't control or predict the future actions of people, the only thing left to try to control is the guns themselves. Clearly doing nothing is not solving the issue. Equally clearly. more guns is not solving the issue. I agree that we will never reach ZERO gun violence. But people really need to stop drinking the NRA pablum and doing some empirical research and engage some critical thinking brain cells. Countries like the UK and Japan who have very low PER CAPITA gun violence rates....why? Because they severely restrict guns. But we'd rather let innocent people get killed willy-nilly then actually DO something.
