I lost patience with John Hughes movies for a while in the 80s, and informally boycotted Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. So, I get no "feels" or nostalgia pangs for them. Still haven't seen this one, though I've seen Sixteen Candles once (and every other time I've caught a snippet, it's always been a scene with Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald in a convertible, for some reason).
Now, I wish I'd seen them both at the time, because I don't know what my issue even was any more, and I have gaps in my pop culture history!
