The Real Reason Kathy Griffin Left Fashion Police
I know this topic isn't everyone's cup of tea, but Rich Juzwiak wrote an even more exhaustive -- and delicious -- piece on the topic for Gawker's entertainment blog, Defamer, in which he quotes some of my earlier reporting. If you're in the mood for dish, click HERE.

She's dead to me. D E A D T O M E...
anyone who knows the least bit about kathy knows how big her heart is, and divisive her comedy can be - her detractors behave like tea partiers at a gun rally.
i don't believe a word of it, the behavior just doesn't fit.
@northalabama: I agree that deep down her heart is in the right place, and I certainly don't think she's a "bad" person. But if you think for one second she -- and just everyone famous in Hollywood -- isn't batshit crazy, you're being naive. It kind of goes with the territory. Even a has-been like Judy Tenuta acts like a diva ... now! xo
Let's not forget that Joan was brain dead for over a week before they turned off the respirator. Kathy was very very close to Joan, and likely knew what was going to happen. I think Joan would appreciate the hustle, especially since it would keep Melissa employed and relevant. So this story doesn't horrify me in the least.
