Lesley Gore Dies at 68

This sucks -- only 68. Lesley was always a childhood favorite of mine, I remember buying 45s of "It's My Party" and "Judy's Turn to Cry"  in the oldies section -- and loving covers of "You Don't Own Me" by everyone from Joan Jett to Klaus Nomi. The New York Times notes that Gore died Monday of lung cancer at New York University Langone Medical Center in Manhattan and is survived by her partner of 33 years, Lois Sasson. She will be missed.
