Great inteview in Billboard with the Bangles about their just-released (fab) album of rare old material. (You may recall their recent concert at City Winery was a complete blast from the past!) The new digital-only set -- called "Ladies and Gentlemen ... the Bangles!" -- includes this early demo version of "The Real World" -- sung in a different key! -- as well as the early single "Getting Out of Hand" (b/w "Call On Me"), the long out-of-print 1982 EP (which I didn't get until IRS reissued it in 1983), as well as covers of Warren Zevon's "Outside Chance" and Paul Revere & the Raiders' "Steppin' Out," plus a few live tracks and other demos.
