As if the patently reprehensible execution of two police officers isn't horrible enough, the city is being ripped apart further by the chief of the police union, who is blaming our mayor and protesters for the killings. (HUH??????) The gunman was a complete psychopath -- he shot up his ex-girlfriend in Baltimore before he drove up here to do this atrocious act -- but that doesn't mean we can't have a civil discussion about the actions of law enforcement. Michael Ian Black reminds us of the great mind of Sarah Palin, whose words sum up the situation perfectly, even if she won't apply them here ...

Well done; indeed a very sad day. My adorable and gay cousin walks a beat in Central Park, and this idiot who is supposed to be on every cop's side, instead is increasing dangerous tensions.
