Thrilled to have been a part of this year's Brooklyn Book Festival, in the Out Words: New Memoirs by Queer Authors panel alongside Kate Fagan and Annie Lanzillotto. Haven't read either woman's book yet, but will definitely be picking up copies after hearing about "The Reappearing Act: Coming Out as Gay on a College Basketball Team Led by Born-Again Christians" and "L Is for Lion: An Italian Bronx Freedom Memoir." A big thank-you to Brian Vines for his expert moderating skills, and to the Rev. John E. Denaro for inviting me in the first place. (Apparently he's Espicopalian -- whatever that means!) And also to Leah, Lynn, Sergio, Brett and Jimmy for coming out to support me!
