As a newspaperman, I often think about businesses that seemed like they would be around forever that are now obsolete. This is my favorite.

Oh my, talking about obsolete. Do you remember that Fotomat provided the first video movie rental services? Put in your order, and the next day the VHS tape was there for pickup, right there at the kiosk. That's how I first saw "Alien."
If I'm right, this is before Blockbuster and all those other video stores came along.
But once they did, the Fotomat service was dead and gone.
