Although I was as nervous as Debbie Harry appeared to be, Blondie did a good job performing on "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve" special Tuesday night. Even better, though, was when Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin accosted Deb afterward, which included Kathy's impromptu attempt at "Hanging on the Telephone" (who forgets the second line???) and Anderson -- not once, but TWICE -- acting like Debbie just came out of retirement! (Oops. Debbie wisely let it go.)
As much as we want to think of AC as being one of us, it's funny to think that his mom was the one who paid Debbie what Chris Stein says was the most money she ever made in her career, when she appeared in ads for Gloria Vanderbilt's Murjani jeans back in 1980. Andy doesn't bring it up, but you know he was thinking about it!
