With thanks to my friend Mark, who alerted me to Eldar Rapaport's "August," a 2011 film now streaming on Netflix about an intense gay love triangle, starring the ridiculously handsome Murray Barlett. Turns out the story was written by my pal Brian Sloan, but that has nothing to do with why I recommend it -- the acting's great and the plot is very compelling!
Synopsis:
When Troy (Murray Bartlett) moves back to LA after many years in Barcelona he finds that his ex-boyfriend Jonathan (Daniel Dugan) has begun dating Raul (Adrian Gonzalez), a handsome South American immigrant. Jonathan has helped Raul stay in America, but when Raul senses the sexual tension between the exes, temperatures rise between the three men in LA's stultifying summer heat.

I just saw "August" a week ago. It's way above the usual gay film. The acting is superb and as Kenneth says, Murray Bartlett is ridiculously handsome and has avoided the razor and clippers. Nice.
I *LOVED* "I THINK I DO" that Sloan wrote and directed. Thanks for the alert about his newest film!
Watched 'August' several months ago and found it enjoyable.
You can look forward to Murray Bartlett in that new gay HBO series next year with Jonathan Groff. My DVR is already programmed. ;-)
I enjoyed it as well. Put it on prepared to turn it off if was the usual TLA/Wolfe drivel, but pretty good. And the guy in the center was stupid. Shouldn't have even been a contest!
Just watched on Sunday! Highly recommended.
All the characters were nice looking and good actors. Loved the stylish angles of the filming. Music was great too. And YES! Loved that the main character had hair on his tummy and legs. So real!
