Memo From the 2012 SAGE Toys Party

Had a great time at Robby Browne's annual Toys Party at Chelsea Piers last night, which raises money (and collects presents) for Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders (SAGE). Saw a bunch of familiar faces -- including blogger/media pals like Joe Jervis, Mike Signorile and Andy Towle -- plus the latest class of impossibly cute 20-somethings, as well as an old trick or two. (See all the guests in the photo booth HERE!) A post-soiree meal with Chris and Brian in the "gay" section of the Moonstruck Diner capped the night off beautifully -- Christine Quinn was eating there in the "lesbian" section! JoeMyGod as more photos/details HERE.

Was this a party for white men only?

And, yeah, right Kenneth. I'm sure Indians and Japanese are facing "socioeconomic challenges." (I think it's time for that attitude to get kicked out the door along with the NY Times). Really, the excuses you types come up with to preserve some illusion that you're above Caucasian tribal-bonding... J.

Ray Kincaid, here is a link to the parties official photo booth album. There are 3000+ photos but they are arranged very nicely and are easy to navigate. I looked through the first thirty pages and saw black men and women (mostly men) who are white, black, asian, middle eastern, hispanic and I think one guy was native Hawaiian. A few people looked mixed; do we call that mulatto still? Or is there a new "Politically Correct" way of saying that these days?
