I don't know, something about a streamlined, state-of-the-art gay and lesbian center just doesn't feel right to me. All of my memories from the late '80s and '90s were of dumpy, cramped places where we just sat around telling stories and playing "The Gay Dating Game." My first reaction to this was "didn't they do a MAJOR overhaul of this place just 11 years ago?" But I read the article, looked at the pictures and I like what I see. I don't think the main lobby should be so modern looking but for the most part I think their plans are good. And being that they are my next door neighbors, it would be a god send if the auditorium's acoustics were repaired so I never again have to hear the gay men's choir relentlessly practice the same songs.
