I'm about as dragphobic as they come -- back in the '90s, a friend invited me to his birthday party at Lips and I had a full-fledged panic attack and ending up not going. But let me assure you of this: Dina Martina is the exception to the rule, a performer whose skills as a woefully unskilled, malapropism-friendly, overly confident cabaret singer will leave you reeling. Showing you her first costume from Saturday night's performance at the Laurie Beechman Theatre is already giving away more than I would like to, so let me just say that if you get the chance to see her, take. it. Dina Martina is a treasure. We over her on the left coast get to have her XMAS show every year plus usually a spring show as well. She makes the XMAS feel extras special for all her peeps in Seattle.
