This Is Bullshit (You Can Quote Me on That)

With thanks to Hank for alerting me to this: Word that big-name reporters and news organizations are LETTING campaign spokespeople "edit" or "scrub" their quotes before they're printed or broadcast has my head spinning. Read Jeremy Peters "trend" piece for the New York Times HERE -- a paper that admits they allow it, too!!!!!

Wow... another nail in the coffin of responsible journalism, but kudos to the NY Times for at least reporting this. I had no idea campaigns had this much control over the media today...

Further evidence that journalism is utterly and completely dead, buried, and reduced to slimy little blobs of decaying protoplasm. Reporters are nothing more than embedded lapdogs for everything from the military to pharma to government. This makes me rethink my digital subscription to the NY Times. Why pay for a series of cleverly arranged press releases? Depressing, to say the least.
