Time Out New York's 100 Best NYC Films was off to a promising start with "Desperately Seeking Susan" out front -- until I saw they buried it at No. 50 on the actual list. (As if ... I wouldn't be here if not for Sue!) I know I say inclusion -- not ranking -- is what matters on these "best of" deals, but I still say #50 is ridiculous, especially when you see some of the stuff that ranked higher. ("Ghostbusters"? "American Psycho"?)
"Taxi Driver" (#1) and "Manhattan" (#5) are wisely at the top -- in fact, the list has lots of Woody, including "Annie Hall," "Hannah and Her Sisters" and "Broadway Danny Rose" -- and nearly redeems itself with Martin Scorsese's downtown masterpiece, "After Hours," at #13 and Susan Seidelman's debut "Smithereens," at #84!

Glad for the nod to "Tootsie" and "The (Hot) Muppets Take Manhattan." But did I miss "Bullets Over Broadway" on the list? Regardless, I see several additions to my Netflix queue!
Good list - if I'm thinking New York Films I'd include Breakfast at Tiffany's, french Connection, Midnight Cowboy, On The Town...
Shocked that '7 year Itch' didn't make it - to me that's classic New York
The 1965 Sal Mineo and Elaine Stritch cult classic, "Who Killed Teddy Bear?" deserved to make the list!
