The Escape Artist

Over the last few years, Novak Djokovic has gone from being a fifth-set disaster to a regular Houdini, routinely saving match points in impossible come-from-behind victories. Today was no exception, as he saved not one but FOUR match points to defeat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, 6-1, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 6-1, to set up a semifinal rematch with Roger Federer, the only man to defeat him in a Slam in ages. Fed's come-from-two-sets-down victory over Juan Martin Del Potro seemed almost routine by comparison, not counting when he told the French fans to shut up! But who could blame him for losing his cool? At 30, Fed is the oldest French Open semifinalist in 21 years.
