The Baltimore Sun has a lengthy profile on Nelson Chrissy Polis, the transgender woman whose vicious assault at the hands of two teenage girls in a Baltimore McDonald's last year went viral. Why would you print a transgendered person's birth name struck through like that? Is this an attempt to humiliate her? Seems really misplaced. I don't see why you would want to attack someone who has obviously been through some tough times over the last year or more.
It's NOT her birth name. It's a joke about her remarkable resemblance to the '90s pop duo. Lighten up.
