Deoccupying Wall Street

Mayor Bloomberg ordered a sweep of Zuccotti Park over night, citing “health and safety conditions became intolerable” in the park where protesters had taken up residence for almost two months. (How third term of you, Mr. Mayor. Now where am I going to live when this Wall Street-created recession costs me another job?!) While hundreds were arrested, by 12:45 p.m today 250 protesters were back marching. This is anything but over.

If I were in NYC I too would be marching right back to the park in support of those arrested.

I stopped by on Saturday to see for myself. I wanted to see without the media filter. Mostly I found homeless and marginal people. Our country needs new ideas and a new direction but you wouldn't have found it there.
