Jeff Lewis Named Tori Spelling's TV Sidekick

The L.A. Times is reporting that "Flipping Out" star Jeff Lewis has been signed to be the "gay sidekick" on Tori Spelling's new daytime talk show. (You may recall that Thomas Roberts auditioned for the job as well.)

A spy on the set of a recent taping said that Jeff was "good," but that the show has "no real direction" ("all chat and fluff and mommy-poopy talk"). I'm told the suits in New York wanted the show to have some newsworthy "hot topics" (a la "The View"), but without a news-oriented person, there's no one who can carry the conversation. I'd say the fact that Tori even showed up for the taping at all is newsworthy in and of itself -- how long before Jeff loses ALL PATIENCE with that one? -- but while the producers were hoping for a "Will & Grace" vibe, I'm hearing the show looks more like "Jack and Karen."

Or they could have paired her with someone anyone could stand.

I'm sorry, but she looks like that Madam doll from the early 80's. Anyone with me on this?
