Drinking the Kool-Aid

Regular readers know that I'm obsessed with Crystal Light. Artificial sweeteners + beverages = ecstasy (and possible future brain tumor?). But of course -- like everything else I buy at the supermarket -- they had to discontinue my favorite flavor (pineapple-orange) and leave me scurrying for a new home beverage. The fruit punch has been keeping me happy for the last few months, but recently I've discovered they make -- get ready -- sugar-free Kool-Aid(!) in my two favorite flavors from my childhood, cherry and grape. It's pretty damn great, although I have to admit that I may have a slightly false impression of things so far. I just realized that in the pitcher of grape I made the other day I used double the amount of powder than I was supposed to (I made four quarts and added mix for eight!). While I'm guessing it would have been way too sweet for any normal person, or at the very least been noticed, for this drinker of tall lattes with six Splendas it was just right.
