With a 37-0 thrashing of the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Jets clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2006, erasing memories of last season’s collapse, when the team -- led by Brett Favre -- lost four of their last five games. This for a franchise with more than 40 years of disappointment since its only Super Bowl appearance, for a team that blew three leads in the fourth quarter this season and started a turnover-prone (and ridiculously good-looking) rookie quarterback and lost three games ago at home.
