It's getting increasingly disappointing rooting for Andy Roddick, whose at-times inexplicable game plan against Croatia's Marin Cilic landed him on the next plane back to the U.S. At the same time Cilic, who finds himself in his first major semifinal, is awfully easy to like.

Good to see I'm not the only one staying up all night watching these matches. Hopefully Andy will finally get a clue from how he played and won the 3rd & 4th sets and change his game plans for the rest of the year. I was grateful for the few topless moments of Andy tho.
Roddick was injured, right? His shoulder, the announcers said. No pop on the serve. Didn't seem to be able to really crack the forehand. Surprised he lasted 5 sets.
Unless he wasn't actually hurt, I think that explains his inexplicable game plan. I think he's actually played much smarter since hiring Stefanki as his coach.
You mean Andy's game plan of playing in pain from a serious shoulder injury while Cilic just coasted and then had to win it in the 5th set? That so it hard to root for.
You have written "plan" when I think you mean "plane".
Andy is a true champion to come back like he did in the 3rd and 4th set playing amazing tennis. If he always played like that he would have at least one more slam trophy on his mantle. But, unfortunately, he reverted to original form in the final set. I am hoping he wins Whimbeldon to make up for the heartbreaker over Rober Fedbot.
Andy could have, and maybe should have, quit. He didn't. He's not Sarah Palin. He's a champion, and I dearly hope he's going to find a way to get to another Slam final. I love staying up too late watching the Aussie action! Thanks for your tennis love, Kenneth!
