OK, raise your hand if you've ever been to Towne Club. If my family went there because we were bargain-hunters or poor (see ad, below), I sure never knew it. I just loved being in a store full of pop and walking around with a wooden crate picking out which ones I wanted to try next. The pineapple was the best -- and was the likely culprit behind all those fillings.

We used to go to Towne Club all the time when I was a kid in metro Detroit. We had the bottles for years afterwards too.
Does the fact I didn't hear an accent say anything about where I grew up?
Cola with the red cap was fake Coke; Kola with the blue cap was fake Pepsi!
14 Mile and Rochester baby!
Oh yes. 12 Mile and Woodward. The days of my youth... Blew me away when, a week ago, I say Aggie Usedley, still calling the numbers for the Michigan Lottery.
wow, that sure brings back some old memories. Towne Club was the only soda we drank growing up, other then a RC Cola from every once in while. I wonder why the are not still around. I would love to have one of the wodden greats
