Man-on-Man Action

Roger Federer flew through the air with the greatest of ease in his straight-set victory over Tommy Haas. He will now play in his seventh straight Wimbledon final, this time against the winner of the Battle of the Andys -- Andy Roddick, who tried to console the Scotsman Murray by making out with him after the match. You know, for all the talk of the death of American tennis, three out of four finalists at Wimbledon this year isn't too shabby ...

I don't normally root for Andy Roddick -- practically never -- and I've always wondered why, because I like him so much off the court. I was really hoping Andy Murray would do Britain proud and make the final. So it came as some surprise when the semi started and I found my self rooting for Roddick. (My man Roger's respective records against the two may have had a little to do with it, but still ...).

Anyway, what a Roddick performance. Great strategy, great execution. That's as good as he gets. He should be proud. And he should lose Sunday.

Andy Murray was beaten by one of the best performances I have seen from Roddick. I felt gutted when Andy Murray lost because I really felt he could make the final and had a great chance to win Wimbledon. Despite Murray's Scottish dourness the whole of Britain was rooting for him and there was a great atmosphere in the pubs and bars in London town..but alas we all ended so deflated.

As for the Men's final...there is only one winner for me. Federer to rip Roddick apart in 3 sets.

The women's final??..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

and don't forget the doubles-Serena and Venus are still in as well as the Brian Brothers-also I agree with the previous comment-Roodick finally showed what he had in him and was either too lazy or un-inspired to show-a great match
