Anna Wintour's annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art ("Where High Cheekbones and Higher Hemlines Rules") looks like it was a dazzling affair last night. (This year's theme, "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," was sooooo deep I'm just glad Tyra Banks was on hand to dissect it all.) Here were some of my favorite photos from the night:

I like Madonna's outfit, I just hate the headgear. But the real disappointment is that as exciting as it is to see her wearing weird shit again and being out-there is that this isn't really self-expression, it's just Louis V corporate sponsorship.
Did you see Andre Leon Talley? He looked like he was smuggling Anna Wintour in under his caftan! ! !
