A Night at the Museum

Anna Wintour's annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art ("Where High Cheekbones and Higher Hemlines Rules") looks like it was a dazzling affair last night. (This year's theme, "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion," was sooooo deep I'm just glad Tyra Banks was on hand to dissect it all.) Here were some of my favorite photos from the night:

Jocks and the Hot Women Who Love Them: Tony Parker and Eva Longoria; Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen

Pretty Women: Claudia Schiffer and Rosario Dawson. Maybe it helps that she's foreign, but how does Claudia show her face in public knowing that everyone knows she used to fuck David Copperfield?!

Don't be surprised when you check out these next six women in blue if you involuntarily begin to sing your favorite Sesame Street tune ("One of things is not like the other. One of these things just doesn't belong"):

Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bündchen and Jessica Alba

Katy Perry, Blake Lively and Madonna, for whom I have not been so embarrassed since she was dragged off the stage on David Letterman back in '94

Singing Their Praises: Bono with wife Ali Hewson; Justin Timberlake with girlfriend Jessica Biel (why do I have this sinking feeling JT is going to launch into one of his not-funny gay routines at any moment?)

Double Trouble: Winona Ryder and Rihanna, who sported one black tux instead of two black eyes

Last But Not Least: Hands down, the evening's hottest and most stylish couple: Hugh Dancy and Clare Danes

I like Madonna's outfit, I just hate the headgear. But the real disappointment is that as exciting as it is to see her wearing weird shit again and being out-there is that this isn't really self-expression, it's just Louis V corporate sponsorship.

Did you see Andre Leon Talley? He looked like he was smuggling Anna Wintour in under his caftan! ! !
