I sure was sad to read that Ron Silver died yesterday. He was 62 and apparently had been battling esophageal cancer for the last two years. Although he was known as a versatile actor and independent-minded political activist -- who played Henry Kissinger, Alan Dershowitz and Bobby Riggs on the screen and supported Bill Clinton, Rudolph W. Giuliani and George W. Bush on the stump --to me he'll always be Gary Levy, the lovable guy who owned the jeans store and traded apartments with one Morgenstern and dated another on the classic sitcom "Rhoda."
