Return of the Domestic Goddess: It's being reported that Roseanne Barr is working on a sitcom pilot that has already been pitched to Fox. Like many huge TV stars before (Mary Tyler Moore comes to mind), Barr hasn't had much success since her landmark sitcom went off the air with a whimper back in '97. With "Arrested Development" scribe Jim Vallely and "Roseanne" producer Caryn Mandabach on board, this sounds like it could have potential. (NYP)

Neither a Gain, Nor a Loss: Gainesville, Fla.’s fear-mongering Amendment 1 -- which, if passed, would have repealed a number of anti-discrimination protections for LGBT residents in the college town -- failed at the polls Tuesday. With the majority of precincts reporting, results have the amendment failing with 61% voting no and 39% voting yes. (Advocate)

This Didn't Used to Be My Playground: Education Secretary Arne Duncan has told a gay student advocacy group that he intends to make schools safe for every student, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. (365Gay)

One Fag Hag Per Customer: It's been reporter that the queers are saying that they don't want bachelorette parties coming through gay bars anymore because they're stirring up Prop 8 resentment of all of us who can't marry. Isn't a better reason that too many drunk straight girls in gay bars are just plain annoying? (Chicago Tribune)

New York State of Mind: Well, my senator with higher aspirations could never say it (what was her name again?). But now Charles Schumer has announced that he is in favor of same-sex marriages. "It’s time. Equality is something that has always been a hallmark of America and no group should be deprived of it," Schumer said in a statement. "New York, which has always been at the forefront on issues of equality, is appropriately poised to take a lead on this issue." It's great news from the man who voted for the Defense of Marriage Act back in 1996. Now if only he could get those cowards up in Albany to get things moving. (AP)

Mommies Dearest: I'm cautiously excited about ABC's midseason replacement "In the Motherhood," a television remake of the popular Web series that starred my girl Chelsea Handler. (I never even knew about that one, BTW.) The new version stars Cheryl Hines (of “Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”) and Jessica St. Clair (“Best Week Ever”), all of whom I think are hilarious. (NYT)

Sticky & Sweet: The Vermont Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill to allow same-sex marriage, setting the stage for the House to take up the matter this week. The Senate, which is dominated by Democrats, voted 26 to 4 in favor of the measure, which would allow gay couples to marry starting in September. (AP)

Dick Army: Barney Fag Frank defended his use of the term "homophobe" to describe Antonin Scalia, the conservative Supreme Court justice who has ruled in favor of limiting legal protections for gays. "What a 'homophobe' means is someone who has prejudice about gay people," Frank told WBZ radio, arguing that Scalia's judicial writing "makes it very clear that he's angry, frankly, about the existence of gay people." First Couple: Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore have been cast as Bill and Hillary Clinton. Is this supposed to be "Far From Heaven" in reverse? (AH)
