Music Box: Disco Fever

I was running on the treadmill the other day when "The Boss" came on by Diana Ross and I thought to myself, this is the greatest song ever. I got Michael and his disco-loving pal Benny to brainstorm with me and here's my unofficial Top 20 Best Disco Songs list for ya. (One title per artist, or else Diana abd Donna would have taken over the whole thing!)

WOW! You listed most of my favorites and I was really pleased to see Native New Yorker.

To the list I would add:
Star Love - Cheryl Lynn

You are spot on about "The Boss" as greatest song ever! I also am a big fan of "No One Gets the Prize" on the same album.

No love for the Bee Gees? I would add either "Stayin' Alive" or (my personal favorite) "You Should Be Dancing" by them.

Though I'll admit, I'm really not as up on disco as I'd like to be.

Your gay card is suspended for one month for missing It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls.

And Never Can Say Goodbye over I Will Survive? Make it two months.

Whoa - watching the college world series now and they are interviewing Tommy Mendonca of Fresno State who won MVP. Get a picture of him on your blog soon and get immediate reinstatement of the gay card.

A lesser known song that is high on my list is Never Gonna Make It Without Your Love by Cut Glass.

Nothing by Chic? And "We Are Family" from Sister Sledge is required listening. Overall, though, not a bad list and the inclusion of "Native New Yorker" is kind of brilliant.

"Don't Stop" by Sylvester

Doctor's Orders was one of the first songs I remember hearing when I first became a radio listener around the age of 11, so all these songs are the soundtrack of my adolescence. Which may explain a lot of things!
