Datebook

On Friday, June 13 from 6-8 p.m., The N.Y. Times' event marketing group presents "The Impact of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,'" the second in its quarterly series of gay/lesbian TimesTalks in The TimesCenter (on 41st Street between 7th and 8th avenues).

The evening begins with the New York premiere of "Ask Not," a new documentary that puts a human face on this contentious policy. Following the screening, New York Times Metro reporter Andrew Jacobs will moderate a panel discussion featuring filmmaker Johnny Symons, military analysts and several former soldiers (including Alex Nicholson, pictured above) who have been discharged for speaking out about their sexual orientation.

Tickets are $20 each and can be ordered online here or by calling (888) NYT-1870. This event is presented in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the New York LGBT Community Center and in collaboration with NewFest, the 20th anniversary New York LGBT Film Festival.
