Sporting Goods: Blaine Wilson

Three-time Olympian Blaine Wilson's comeback ended after two events Thursday when he withdrew from the nationals and announced his retirement. "I got through floor exercise and I said, 'I’m just tired,'" Wilson, 33, said he told coach Miles Avery. (Tired of what -- being so damn hot?) He added, "It's been a good run ... It was a good idea for me to walk away." Between Blaine and Alexei Nemov, there was actually a time when watching the Olympics was fun. I hope his retirement is everything he hopes it will be. Last time he tried things didn't go so well.

I've been fortunate enough to correspond with Blaine in the past. He answered all my questions on the back of a personalized autographed picture. I was a gymnast all through high school. He has always been my favorite gymnast, not only based on looks, but with skill, determination and love for the sport. It's a shame that he won't be competing, but i think he's still ending on a good note. Good Luck Blaine and Thanks!

In some of those pics, he looks a bit like John Cena.

OK, I guess it is now my turn to have a celeb sighting. Here in Columbus there is not as much opportunity as in NY. A couple of years ago I was at a baseball game here and Blaine was sitting a couple of rows in front of me.

I also saw David Wright a few years ago. He was playing baseball, but it was with the double A Binghamton Mets, before he made a name for himself.

you cant even COMPARE john (gorilla boy) cena to blaine wilson.. blaine is ten TRILLION times hotter than cena's monkey ass self could ever HOPE to be!

its a shame blaine retired.. you just GOTTA love a gymnast who spent a lot of his time in the lockerroom cutting hair! lol!

(yes, blaine is something of a hairdresser... he has studied the artform previously)
