My Blue Heaven

As New York celebrated the huge Super Bowl win by the Giants, I'm in an especially good mood today, too. Just voted for my Hillary. (I like Barack, but I think my senator is far more qualified.) Got encouraging news from my doctor about my bad eye. I'm to continue the drops (eight times a day!), but my cornea is on the mend and my vision is nearly fully restored. In other news, I just got a very touching e-mail from my old college pal that I blogged about a couple weeks ago, Landon J. Napoleon. I'm sure I'll write more about it later, but it made me really happy to realize that our semester-long friendship -- 19 years ago!! -- stayed with him too. The note was very heartfelt and very sweet and reaffirmed my feelings about how important friendship are in my life, no matter how big or small. Off to work and Super Tuesday!

We never realize how much we take our senses for granted until they are diminished or lost. I lost my hearing (sudden hearing loss) in one ear, but after three months of care under supervision of an experienced otologist, I have recovered most of my precious sense of hearing! I can so easily identify with your situation and your gratitude for an outstanding medical professional. We are both lucky to get these "gifts" back.
