  • This Should Be Some Audit: A 63-year-old transsexual in suburban Boston is suing the Internal Revenue Service for disallowing her to write off her $25,000 sex-reassignment surgery. Rhiannon O'Donnabhain (finally, an Irish tranny!), who says she lived a tormented existence as a father, a husband, a Coast Guardsman, and a construction worker before correcting her biological disorder, said she could have paid back the approximately $5,000 she received in her tax refund but decided to challenge the IRS because she believes the ruling against her was rooted in politics and prejudice. ''This goes way beyond money,'' O'Donnabhain said in an interview. ''If I were to give the money back, it would be saying it's OK for you to do this to me. It is not OK for them to do this to me or anyone like me.'' (AP)

And soon, a select few will call The Plaza hotel home. (PageSix)

  • Edwards -- Elizabeth, That Is -- for President: Elizabeth Edwards reiterated her support for same-sex marriage in a speech Saturday in Sacramento, saying the idea that it threatens heterosexual marriage is "complete nonsense." Now if only any of the actual candidates could say what it so obvious to Mrs. Edwards and anyone else with half a brain. (AP)

  • Man on Fire: Newsweek catches up with hunky Chris Evans to learn about his four new movies and to see if he'd read that some "Fantastic 4" fans think his chest is too hairy: "Too hairy!? Oh no no. I can't help it, I guess. Unfortunately, when you do these press junkets, they're, like, 'So you took your shirt off again?' And you're, like, I know you're digging for a sound bite, but all I can say is, it happens, and it happens a lot." (To which I say thank god for that!) (Newsweek) The director of Chris' next film thinks he's pretty special, too. (MTV)

  • Chain of Fools: If you were watching calories, would you go for the chicken Caesar salad at Chili’s or the classic sirloin steak? Subway’s tuna or roast beef sandwich? A Starbucks chai or a cappuccino? The answers -- including which one of those items has 1,010 calories and 76 grams of fat! -- may surprise you. (NYT)
