Heavy Rotation: Green Pitch -- 'Ace of Hearts'

Ever since it arrived in the mail, I can't take Green Pitch's new album "Ace of Hearts" out of my CD player. This Danish band's sparse yet lush, haunting, emotional, lo-fi brand of music has been compared to Luna, Sugar Cubes, Mazzie Star. Singer Rex Garfield's voice (she's a girl) makes me want to throw in a touch of the Sundays and a hint of Dido unplugged, but I would venture to say it's truly something special -- and not really like anything you've ever heard before.

You can learn more and hear their music on Green Pitch's MySpace page here or visit the band's Web site here. Their new CD is available for pre-order via Amazon here.
