One Day at a Time






It was a scorcher in Indianapolis yesterday, but the Underachieving Duo -- Andy Roddick and defending champion Robby Ginepri -- each took a step toward a return to form by advancing to the second round of the RCA Championships. Roddick, who got some advice and court time with Jimmy Connors after his early exit at Wimbledon, won in straights; Ginepri, with the help of an Instant Replay challenge that went in his favor and a shirt change or two (hubba-hubba), advanced in three, but nearly suffered a heat stroke in doing so ... Meanwhile in nearby Ohio, Serena Williams played her first match since January (and before that, September) and crushed No. 2 seed Anastasia Myskina in straight sets (how Serena of her). (AP)
