Marilyn Monroe would have turned 80 today. There is a great slideshow of pictures commemorating her life over on Slate, like this one of her working out with dumbbells in her jeans and a bikini top. I've done my share of research on Norma Jean and I remember reading that her fear of being fat inspired her to do things that were way ahead of her time where health and fitness was concerned, like working out with weights and jogging way back (when this was unheard of for women). Despite what she may have thought, Marilyn always looked great.
