Song of the Day: 'Peace' by the Plastics

Damian played Shonen Knife's cover of "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" the other night and it got me thinking of another Asian band my brother Bill also loved and introduced me called the Plastics.

The short-lived new wave outfit hailed from Japan and put out a couple albums at the beginning of the '80s, including "Welcome Back," which Bill bought based solely on how fun they looked on the cover. Their best song was "Peace," and their best video was the impeccably styled "Top Secret Man" -- both of which you can enjoy here.

Sad to read founding members Toshio Nakanishi and Masahide Sakuma both died in the 2010s.

Wrote about "Top Secret Man" years ago HERE.

OMG! I used to have this album. And I saw the Plastics in Minneapolis in 1980-81. My friend Barb and I went out to their bus and got autographs! I remember Barb received a guitar pick, too.

That is one I missed. And I am glad you shared it.
