Remember that those guys who insisted on surfing in the polluted Malibu Lagoon were getting hit with all kinds of strange infections. Just think of what animal (and human) poop, chemicals and pesticides were in all that run-off over the years. And they weren't smoking the cheap sh*t, either.
That might even explain why folks in the 'bu insist on building homes that will either certainly be consumed by fire or the ocean.
