Rachel Maddow: An American Hero

You know how we sit at home watching these so-called television journalists all the time, and how they never come out and say what we think they should be saying and how they never ask the questions we think they should be asking -- the ones we are SCREAMING at the television ourselves? (Jon Stewart knows what I'm talking about; making a mockery of the on-air "talent" at CNN, MSNBC and Fox News is his bread and butter.) Well, I happened to be home watching live television tonight (it was CRAZY, they have these things called commercials where they try to sell you things!) and Rachel Maddow was on. Now maybe this happens every night on her show (I haven't seen it since the presidential election), but suddenly -- and shockingly -- she went from interviewing this Tim Phillips guy of "Americans for Prosperity" to letting him know EXACTLY what she thinks of his partisan scare tactics in the name of "grass-roots" health care reform. I must say, I've watched my share of television in my life. But I have never seen something so intense and exhilarating in my entire life. Kudos to Rachel for standing up against the hatriots. Maddow in 2016? Well, a guy can dream.

Rachel is well known for keeping it civil but she was seething last night and I couldn't get to sleep for a while after watching that! Finally.....an addition to Dylan Ratigan

Rachel Maddow is amazing.

She takes the vitriol and anger that so many of us have when talking/thinking about issues such as this, and puts it into words that are biting yet civil and high-minded. She is one of the left's best spokespersons, and a fantastic counter-punch to the hate-mongering and bigotry of people like Glenn Beck.

Go Rachel!

Unfortunately, Rachel (and Keith Olbermann) have a bad rap in the media as the flip side of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity. It isn't true of course, but in the "fair and balanced" world of the news, every point has an equal counterpoint. "Some say the world is flat, others disagree." It pisses me off.
