Robby Ginepri's
spinderella run at the French Open came to a halt today, as he was bumped in straight sets by Fernando Gonzalez of Chile, 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-1. I hate to see Robby lose, but if he had to go then Gonzo is the man to beat him (yes, I'm a fan). Gonzalez is now the only non-European left in the tournament -- male or female. (In fact, going into the match,
30 of 32 of the fourth round players were European, including all 16 women, which is a first at any Grand Slam event since the Open era began in 1968.) Can an unpredictable South American put the brakes on this Euro Express? I don't know but it should be fun watching.
